Hello,
This holiday season hasn’t looked the way I expected.
Between a housing challenge and some health concerns, I’ve found myself moving through days that feel heavier than usual. The kind of days where routines are disrupted, plans change quickly, and you’re reminded that everything that was thought was controlled turned to be a disaster. From buying a home that was thought to be great turned into a lie and on top of that having to get unexpected surgery.
What’s surprised me most during this time is not the difficulty but the support.
The check-in messages and just the help.
The people who offered help without needing details.
The quiet reminders that I don’t have to carry everything alone.
It made me realize something important:
We often teach ourselves to be strong by being independent, but real strength is knowing when to lean into community.
This is something I see again and again in my work whether it’s adults learning to manage time and emotions, or youth discovering that their imperfections don’t disqualify them from belonging. Growth doesn’t happen in isolation. Healing doesn’t either.
If this season feels hard for you too, I want you to hear this:
You’re not behind.
You’re not weak.
And you don’t have to do everything on your own.
Maybe today’s practice is simple:
Who is one person you can reach out to just to be real with?
And if you’re the one offering support to others, thank you. You may never fully know how much it matters.
