One Month Down, 11 to go. What’s your career plan?

Happy 2026, everyone! December and January sure went by in a blur, didn’t they?

So, how are you?

No, seriously. HOW ARE YOU REALLY?

If you’re feeling disillusioned about your current employment situation, I have some good news for you. You still have eleven months this year to turn your emotions from hopeless to happy. Don’t think about the past. Instead, focus on what you’d like the rest of your year to look like by answering these questions:

What trends are shaping your industry, and how might they affect your role?

What new skills can you develop to stay relevant and competitive? (I hope you said AI)

How can you better manage and plan your career progress this year?

Which workplace relationships or professional networks do you want to nurture?

What steps will you take to achieve a healthier work-life rhythm?

What professional development experiences excite you most?

Which tasks or commitments will you say “no” to in order to focus on what truly matters?

Where do you want to be—professionally and personally—by this time next year?

And most importantly: are you willing to exchange another year of your life for your current employer and career path?

Meaningful growth begins with intentional reflection. Use these questions to clarify your priorities, realign your goals, and design a work life that supports your values and ambitions. 2026 can be a year of renewed energy and purpose—one shaped by conscious choices and bold, thoughtful steps.

Here’s to a new year filled with clarity, growth, and exciting career possibilities ahead!
